Blighter Quad Stug Medium Tank - WIP

Last night I did some sketching and 3d modeling of a vehicle that had been rolling around in my head for a long time. I'm a huge fan of the walking tanks from ghost in the shell and other anime so I decided to make a blighter tank in a similar style. I had planned to do a light tank but I feel like this tank is just too cool and that's what it's all about right :) This is still a work in progress but I like the feel of the massing and layout. I can't wait to hold this in my hands. This is a toy that I've ALWAYS wanted. Let me know what you think.

50mm Allied Grunt Casting Success!

I made a mold of the 50mm Allied Grunt and successfully cast it!  The mold was pretty tough to make because of the gun and the shape of the character, but it all worked out.  I also received some new tint in the mail today so when I make these I'll be able to keep the green color going.  If the hurricane doesn't wipe out my house I should have some of these made by next week and up on the site for sale.  This toy really has a cool feel to it.  Really reminds me of the green army men I had as a kid.

Look at how I had to build up the clay to support the gun!  I definitely feel more confident with each mold I make.

Rivet Wars in "RESIN SUX" art show

Some vert tanks are currently appearing in the "Resin Sux" art show in Mesa Arizona.  The show opened August 12th and I think it's running for a few weeks.  Both of the pieces I submitted to the show sold on opening night which was cool to hear.  One was a custom painted vert tank.  Hopefully I'll have time to do more of those.  Big thanks to Danny at the Rusted Nail Gallery for asking me to be in the show.

I love this sign :)

Allied Grunt Prototype are in!

I just received the prints for the Allied Grunt.  I decided to make one toy at the scale of the vert tank and a second "hero model" in a bigger scale.  I just thought it'd be cool to have a larger figure.  Here are some pics I took of the models.  I hope to make molds by this weekend and maybe have some for sale next week.  Let me know what you think.

Sculptor, Ralph Niese, shows us his vision of Rivet!

Ralph Niese is an AMAZING sculptor, and you can see it in these pictures.  He thought Rivet Wars seemed like an interesting project so he did this sculpt, just for fun, in one hour.  In one hour!  Look how small and detailed that is. He's just an amazing artist.  I'm hoping he'll have some spare time to finish these.  Just too cool to see his take on the Rivets.

What does a female Rivet look like?

Everyone can stop asking.  I recently finished a commission of a female Rivet tank commander taking a smoke break outside her tank.  You'll note that she is a member of an elite unit of sniper vert tanks tasked with disrupting enemy supply lines.  Their high speed and long range weapons make them ideal for hit and run ops behind enemy lines.  Smoke'em if you got 'em!

Custom Paint

Adam over at halfbad toyz has added a really really detailed paint job to the custom.  This is just crazy when you think of how small this is.  Incredible skill at work here.  Oh, and it's not done :)

Ship out!

Today I dropped off all the orders.  It was fun telling the lady at our post office that I had made some custom toys and that's what I was mailing out.  It felt good to send them on their way.  Hopefully you'll soon have your tanks!  Now I hope you dig them.

Production is chugging along.

Almost have all the orders done.  Just some finish work and bagging.  I'm not looking forward to the shipping part, but I'm excited knowing that it's that much closer to having them in everyone's hands.  Thanks again for all the orders, support and encouragement.  Good stuff.
