Stug Production in Progress

The Maybach plants are cranking up their production of the Quad Stug Aus F.  They hope to start shipping finished units to the blighter front in 2 weeks.  There have been delays with the Porsche suspension and quality control issues but a Blighter Motor Works plant has been retooled to assist with the pneumatic control systems which should help avoid further delays.

Spoils of Rivet Wars

A few weeks ago I received a plain brown box in the mail.  Inside the box was a replica Mauser pellet gun along with an amazing letter.  The stained and weathered letter explained that this had been the pistol of a Blighter Captain named Schadenkopf.  It described how I had defeated Schadenkopf in hand to hand combat  and that my unit has retrieved this gun from his corpse.  So incredibly cool!

It turned out to be a Christmas gift from Billy P, one of my best friends and a huge supporter of the Rivet Wars effort.  This year he really outdid himself and I must say it's one of the coolest things I've ever gotten.  I'm such a geek for stuff like this and I'm still just blown away.  Thanks dude :)

Vector Art Stug

I finished a vectored version of the Stug.  I made this to use on the stat card for the toy.  I'd love to see a cartoon show with these little guys.

And a pic of the Stug with the guys who got me doing Rivet Wars.

Stug is Done!

I made a casting of the complete Quad Stug toy.  I still have a few bugs to work out with the molds but all in all it's done!  I'm pretty happy with how it came out.  Here are some pics of the final as well as some works in progress.

Ready to pour the 2nd half of the body mold.

Mold walls and clay laid in for pouring the 1st half of the leg molds.

the 1st parts of the lef molds have been cast.

Pulling apart the molds after the 2nd half of the leg molds have cured.

The entire Quad Stug with legs attached.

Stug 1st Test Casting

Tonight I did a test casting of the Quad Stug.  I couldn't wait.  The other day, when making the molds, the 3D print collapsed in the pressure pot from a structural failure in the material.  This smashed up the model, but I was able to glue it back together and remake the molds.  You can see the damage on the bottom, but all in all it looks pretty great.  It feels SO good when you hold it in your hands.  I need to carve out some channels so that I don't get air bubbles in the helmet and some other areas.  Then it's molding the legs.

Prepping the Quad Stug

Today I'm sanding and prepping the Quad Stug.  I'm going to see if I can't get the molds done this weekend and start casting next week.  This toy has been waiting to be made long enough.

Another Great Custom!

Adam Pratt is one of the most talented customizers out there and I'm lucky to have him as a fan of Rivet Wars. He just posted pictures of his continued work on a Rivet Wars Jeep that will carry two grunts.  It is just amazing what he as done with the detail and paint.  Enjoy the pictures :)

This really has me thinking that I need to get a finalized world map for Rivet Wars and the world story.  I've been reading Hew Strachan's book, The First World War, to get into the period and get inspired.  The history channel has also been running a great series based on the book.  Check it out if you get a chance.

Rivet Jeep!

I had to share this amazing work in progress from Adam Pratt.  He's making a custom jeep with two customized Rivets inside.  Adam plans to add tons of detail and extra parts before it's done.  Can't wait to see it all finished!
